Community Safety Partner
The continued inter- and multiple-generational shared connection with elders (65 or over), as the backbone or specialists of the community given their skills, knowledge and experience that can exceed multiple decades.
Travel Card: $100
Summer Stipend: Up to $560

Elders 65+ with extensive skills, ability to provide general leadership, active listening, positive guidance, and decision-making skills.

Elders 70+ with extensive skills, ability to provide general support to youth and young adults, their families and serve as a mentor or positive guidance.
Meals: Work closely with summer school meal program and assist with daily Breakfast/ Lunch/ Snacks for campmates at least once a week
9 AM - 11 AM for Breakfast
11:00 AM - 1 PM for Lunch
2 PM - 4 PM for Snack
In addition to the field outings (commit up to 10 hours starting July 5)
Guest Speaker: Share experience and lessons learned about past Employment and Education during RHHC and CORE schedule (2 hours)
Summer Project: Prepare a Short-Term Project (1-hour, to 1-day, or up to 3-weeks) to work with youth to start and end within the schedule based on own strengths and needs (eg., Smart Photoshoot at PDX Parks, Express Yourself Journaling, Cataloguing Critical Causes, Community Legacy Docuseries, Community Crawler at Summer Multi-Cultural Festival and Events, etc.). Work with intern staff to develop a spotlight article in the SAFE2-2022 Project Magazine Booklet (5 hours)
Travel Safety Chaperones: Meet bus, load and unload passengers to keep attendance and provide safety guidance. Attend S.T.R.E.A.M. Field Outings (30 hours)
